For the perfect holiday...

About Aberdovey

Aberdovey is a thriving little harbour resort on the mild south facing coast of Cardigan Bay. Set within the Snowdonia National Park where the River Dovey meets the sea, Aberdovey has watersports galore- sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing and boat trips. In the summer there are numerous yachting regattas and other water spectacles and family entertainments on the award-winning sandy beaches.

Aberdovey is often referred to as the 'artist's paradise.'

Aberdovey with is's wide expanse of clean sands, is a friendly resort and sailing centre that also makes an ideal base for exploring the coast and mountains of southern Snowdonia and the many major attractions in the area.

Other forms of recreation and leisure include the magnificent 18 hole chanpionship golf links which offers a challenge to all visiting players (with handicap certificates) who are warmly welcomed. The leisure park has tennis, putting and a bowling green, while the coast and hills have many good footpaths and tracks for walks.

The natural attractions around Aberdovey are famous, the glacial lake of Tallylyn with it's native brown trout is a favourite with the serious fly fisherman (fishing by arrangement with the lakeside hotel). The setting of the lake has to be seen to be believed.

The mountain ranges to the north are crowned by Cader Idris, at 2,927 feet it dominates the country around. This mountain, for serious walkers, is one of southern Britain's top ten mountains for both beauty and height.
